Fireworks

"Fireworks"
©Timothy Wong
I took these shoots during the last fireworks show on coney island last year. I placed the victor-smith on the floor. The flare is cause by the cheap filter on the lens but I think still captures that special celebration of the evening. Canon XSI with 18-55mm, F5.6 @ 8 seconds at ISO 100.

Look into my eyes

"Look into my eyes"
©Timothy Wong
I took this image for jenny, sharon and my wife about 6 months ago. I love the direct gaze of the young lady right back into the camera. She looks quietly strong and confident as she makes eye contact with the viewer. Canon 40D with 24-105mm at 105mm, F5.6 @ 1/100 second at ISO 8200.

Get Ready for Ceremony

"Get Ready for Ceremony"
©Timothy Wong
This image was made a few weeks ago while on a shoot in Long Island. The location was the Jericho Terrace. I made this image right before the bride prepare to go to ceremony. You can see the stress all over her face. It is one of the classic photographs we make at every wedding. Canon 40D with tokina 11-16mm at 12mm, F5.6 @ 1/60 second at ISO 800.

Sunny Orange

"Sunny Orange"
©Timothy Wong
This is actually a mid afternoon shot I put the sun behind Gordon and take the shoot. I loved the intense bright orange color of the shirt. It's just a loud splash of energizing color in this one composition. Canon 40D with Canon 85mm, F2.5 @ 1/750 second at ISO 200.

Cotton Candy

The sun was just starting to set, and once again, I got that great balance of ambient with the glow of the illumination of the lighting. I love the composition and color of this shot. Canon 40D with Tokina 11-16mm at 16mm, F7.1 @ 1/200 second at ISO 100.

Moment

"Moment"
©Timothy Wong
This image capture the father of the bride dancing with his daughter on her wedding day.  I have to say, I really like it. Once again, it's a simple shot with a dramatic background.  The beautiful bride and her simplistic totally natural position in the composition certainly add to the over-all feeling of the image.  Canon 40D with Tokina 11-16mm at 11mm, F5.6 @ 1/60 second at ISO 800.

Times Square

"Times Square"

This image captures the fun loving nature of these girls. It was a kick to photograph their friendship and this was one of my favorite images from the day. They got into it and I got some great shots. Flash from my on-camera flash with homemade bounce card. Canon 40D with 24-105mm at 24mm, F6.7 @ 1/45 second at ISO 200.

Central Park

"Central Park"
©Timothy Wong
I captured this image last week while we were visiting the Central Park in NY. Something about the textures and colors were intriguing to me. This one tree in the foreground was the biggest and appeared to be the oldest and most weathered compared to its younger siblings in the background.

I have enjoyed shooting flowers and plants when i still in school. The image was taken on a nyc city walk a week ago. It was taken with a 70-200mm lens. This is one of my favorites from that shoot.

Pink Petal

"Pink Petal"
©Timothy Wong
This is probably my favorite image from the trip to Botanic Garden.
I really liked this blossom flower and went in really close with a wide aperture. I wanted to isolate on just one flower. The single deep, rich, velvety, pink petal seems to stand guard over the intertwining soft and sharp edges of the background.

Cherry Blossom

"Cherry Blossom"
©Timothy Wong
Here is one more image from last week's shoot. When I had her look into the camera. It demonstrates what can be accomplished in super bright noon-day sun. The trick is to keep the sun behind the subjects. The lighting on her face became very severe and contrasty. I love the final result.

Anitra & David

"Anitra & David"

This image was made outside where the ambient light wasn't quite bright. Illumination was provided by my on-camera flash. I just wanted a simple statement of my beautiful bride in this elegant setting. I think the shot tells a great story.

Naomi

"Naomi"
©Tim Wong
I photographed this image during my vacation on last week. The girl in the picture is my niece
Naomi. When doing the series for the portrait, I love getting in close and just framing on portions of their face, hands, ring, etc. To me, this truly captures the feelings of the person. The light, in this case was simply my on-camera flash bouncing off the wall to my left.

Lost In The Moment

"Lost In The Moment"

This image captures the fun loving nature of this wonderful couple. I think convert this image to B&W is quite effective as a romantic portrait of the couple. I think this kind of image is timeless. i did take more than 30 pics and this is the best one.

Red Apple Serena

This was one of my favorite images from yesterday's shoot. I positioned Serena quite a bit down the road with me. This photograph was made with the natural overcast light. We were losing light so I kicked the ISO up to 400.

Golden Kiss

"Golden Kiss"
©Tim Wong
I think it is a beautiful image. The sun was setting at one of the most beautiful spots in the world. We had just a few minutes to get the shot while the light was just right. The lighting wrapped around their faces beautifully resulting in a beautiful portrait.

I made this image early in the morning just as the light was starting to take on some color. Again, a very simple and beautiful composition. Notice how the soft shadows are not distracting as they fall on the subject.

Hugging at Brooklyn Bridge

"Hugging at Brooklyn Bridge"

I took this image at Brooklyn Bridge on last Sat. I love the feel of this image. This was the location where the groom ask the bride to marry him. It was a beautiful venue for their moment. It is still a beautiful image with a certain timeless quality.

©Tim Wong

For my last wedding assignment on Valentine's Day. I saw Anitra, who is the bride was holding a very special bouquets and when i came closer, i found out the bouquets was handmade by clay from hawaii!!! They are beautiful and I can't believe the flowers just like the real thing. Deb, the owner of Blossoms can create exotic and unique flowers. i wish i have Deb's flower in my wedding couple months ago. And the care for these flowers is very easy. Just keep them away from water and direct sunlight.

Click on the flyer for more bouquets pictures. Want to know more about how Deb create the bouquets? check out Deb's blog in here.
Take a close look to any flower - just gorgeous stuff.

hope your enjoy -Tim
